Five Man Utd Stars Set for Amorim’s Bold Squad: Onana, Casemiro…

There’s never a calm moment at Old Trafford and theManchester UnitedThe bomb disposal team is active and thriving in 2025.

Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony were all excluded from the pre-season trip to the United States. All of them are anticipated to be sold before the transfer window closes.

With new players arriving and Ruben Amorim starting to make his impact, we are looking forward to the next group of athletes whose future now seems a bit unclear.

Andre Onana

A continuous flow of goalkeeper speculation has been ongoing for more than a year, yet Onana remains in place.

He is embarking on a tour, behaving appropriately, and for the time being, Amorim appears satisfied with his presence.

That doesn’t imply the commotion has ceased. United are anticipated to acquire a new goalkeeper before the window closes, and it’s not difficult to envision Onana descending the hierarchy if circumstances deteriorate.

He has displayed moments of excellence since joining from Inter, but the errors have remained just as memorable. That’s acceptable when there’s no other option.

But not as much when there’s a younger, calmer, and more reliable person waiting on the bench. Altay Bayindir was never like that, or the Cameroonian might have already been replaced.

Onana has endured the initial cull. However, should United discover their permanent goalkeeper, he might soon be placed in a precarious position.

Casemiro

Casemiro is worthy of admiration. He came in as a five-time UEFA Champions League champion and, on occasion, provided stability to a faltering midfield. However, it’s reasonable to say his physical condition is not what it used to be.

United had a tough time in transition during the previous season, as Casemiro frequently found himself positioned too high, moving too slowly, or both.

When Amorim tried things out, there could have been the Grand Canyon separating him from Bruno Fernandes.

Situations appeared more even when Manuel Ugarte entered the game, allowing Bruno to move forward. However, no matter who he is paired with, the outcome is clear.

He isn’t completely out of the picture yet. However, Amorim is seeking energy and dominance in the midfield, which might leave limited space for a 33-year-old player who is beginning to lose speed.

Casemiro’s experience remains significant, but if the strategy involves pressing high and advancing the ball swiftly, he may find himself struggling to keep up.

Kobbie Mainoo

Mainoo possesses all the necessary skills. He remains composed while in possession of the ball, selects accurate passes, and behaves with a level of maturity that exceeds his age.

However, English football often has a tendency to consume its young talents. Mainoo was already being recognized as a once-in-a-generation player before he had even completed 20 senior matches, and then came the harsh reality.

Injuries were a challenge last season. He sat out a significant portion of the year, and upon his return, Ruben Amorim had different plans for his double-pivot role.

There have been discussions about interest from Tottenham, with some subtle talk regarding contract terms. It’s still just rumors for now, but you know the saying about smoke.

The English national team player is not in difficulty just yet, but as United aim to restructure their midfield, he must determine precisely where he belongs.

Luke Shaw

Shaw’s United journey has never been simple.

From the harsh double leg injury in 2015 to doubts about his physical condition and performance, it’s been a career marked by moments of brilliance and disappointment.

Following 11 years and 28 distinct injuries, he could be considering ending his career. Rumors indicate he is willing to relocate to Saudi Arabia, which would not come as a surprise.

He is turning 30 this month, has two more years remaining on his contract, and is encountering growing competition with the arrival of Diego Leon in the fullback position.

Patrick Dorgu and Leon are both younger, more physically fit, and better suited to what Amorim is looking for in his full-backs. Diogo Dalot has also played on the left side.

It’s challenging to determine where Shaw stands, particularly if the Red Devils commit fully to a high-pressing, high-energy approach.

Joshua Zirkzee

Zirkzee came with a solid reputation and excellent ball control, but forwards are typically evaluated by their goal-scoring ability, which is not his primary strength.

He remained without scoring in the league from the first day of last season until December, and speculation about a January departure came and went.

Nevertheless, the question persists: is he truly what United requires?

He excels at connecting play, making runs into open spaces, and isn’t afraid to do the hard work. However, for a team aiming to be more direct and threatening in quick transitions, there may be better choices.

It’s also important to recognize that Amorim was not the one who signed him; it was Erik ten Hag.

Rasmus Hojlund, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha are more effective in attacking positions, with another forward potentially joining soon.

He’s not completely out of the game yet, but time is running short, so don’t be surprised if he ends up in the critical area.
