School Sports Promotion Association Hosts Career and College Prep Workshop for Athletes

Online Entrance Examination Briefing Session for Student-Athletes

The School Sports Promotion Association is set to host an online entrance examination briefing session for the 2026 school year. This event will focus on soccer and baseball, offering valuable insights to students and parents who are preparing to enter the physical education field. The session will be conducted online, with current physical education teachers who specialize in these sports delivering lectures.

The briefing session aims to provide comprehensive information about professional advancement opportunities and admission processes based on athletic performance. It will emphasize the importance of understanding the entrance examination system, which combines academic performance with school records. Participants will have the opportunity to submit pre-questions before the session and engage in real-time Q&A sessions after the lectures. This initiative is expected to be particularly beneficial for student-athletes and their families, especially when it comes to performance and practical preparation.

Applications for the briefing session are limited to 900 participants, and they will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Lee Min-pyo, the secretary-general of the School Sports Promotion Association, explained that since 2019, the organization has been providing career and advancement counseling for student-athletes. Initially, they offered in-person visits to schools for special lectures or online individual counseling. However, as demand and satisfaction grew, they decided to introduce a group-based online entrance examination briefing session.

Additional Counseling Opportunities

For those seeking more in-depth guidance beyond the briefing session, the association offers one-on-one customized counseling through the ‘2025 Physical Education Talent Career-Inclusive Counseling’ program. This intensive counseling service is available for students from the sixth grade of elementary school to the third grade of high school. It is not only for student-athletes but also open to general students interested in pursuing a career in sports or those considering a career change.

The fourth round of this counseling program will take place at Seoul Sports High School over two days, from August 30 to 31. This face-to-face session will provide students and parents with more detailed information and support. Those interested can apply for both the ‘Entrance Examination Briefing’ and ‘Intensive Counseling’ through the school sports portal (www.cspep.or.kr). For the intensive counseling, personalized support is possible if applicants provide detailed information about their academic performance and school grades during the application process.
