New Arsenal Signee Receives Warm Welcome from Teammates
Victor Jockeres, who recently joined Arsenal, has been welcomed with open arms by his new teammates. A New Chapter for Jockeres
Jockeres made a return to the English stage after two years. He began his professional career with Swedish club IF Bromapoykarna before moving to Brighton in January 2018. However, he did not manage to make an appearance in the Premier League. His breakthrough came during a loan spell at Coventry City in the English Championship, where he started to show his potential.
In July 2023, Jockeres joined Sporting CP in Portugal. He quickly became one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. Over two seasons with the club, he played 102 matches across all competitions and scored an impressive 97 goals. In his first season, he netted 43 goals, and in the second, he increased his tally to 54.
Despite his success, the transfer to Arsenal was not without challenges. Manchester United showed interest in him, and their manager, Ruben Amorim, who previously managed Sporting, tried to convince Jockeres to join them. However, Jockeres remained firm in his decision to move to Arsenal.
The transfer process involved intense negotiations, with both clubs pushing hard to secure the player. Jockeres was so determined to join Arsenal that he even ended his relationship with his girlfriend, who was against him leaving Sporting.
